Held in Memory of Fire Department Life Member and Veteran Donald "Sox" Bowersox with proceeds to benefit Pleasant Valley Community Fire Company

Donald & Angela Bowersox
The Pleasant Valley Car Show was started by St. Matthew's United Church of Christ, Pleasant Valley, as part of their annual Fall Fest. The event was held each October on the grounds of Pleasant Valley Community Fire Company.

Donald helped with getting the car show started and eventually his daughter became coordinator of the event. Over the years, his daughter and granddaughters volunteered to organize and help at the community car show. October 2022 was the last church car show. Congregational members decided to discontinue holding the event. Donald passed away on March 29, 2023.

His wife, children, and grandchildren wanted to honor his memory and his love of cars by restarting the community car show. 2025 will be the first year the Pleasant Valley Community Fire Company will organize and host the Car Show and Flea Market event. Proceeds will go to support the community fire company.

"The Other Woman"
1965 Ford Thunderbird
What We Offer

- Donald interviewed July 8, 2017

"It's a 1965 Ford Thunderbird owned by Don Bowersox and Granddaughter, Taylor Blizzard, from Pleasant Valley, Maryland. With a few minor exceptions, the car is restored to the way it came out of the showroom. I am the third owner of the vehicle and I took the time and money to put it back in this condition. The car was built March 15, 1965, at the Wixom Assembly Plant in Wixom, Michigan. It has a 390 cu. in. 300 hp. V8 engine, and a Cruise-O-Matic dual range transmission. The car is known as “The Other Woman”, because my wife says I think more of the car then I do of her. I’ve owned the car for 18 years and all the work I’ve done on it has been a pleasure. I don’t class the car as a show car but as a “cruiser” because when I want to take it for a drive, it gets uncovered and comes out of the garage. I’ve enjoyed many hours just driving and “cruising” the car."

(Car will be on display at the show.)
